College for Alternative Learners & Alternative Routes
Unique as people, we are also unique as learners. Non-traditional learning styles are not inhibitors to college.
For years, we have been providing insightful, knowledgeable guidance on successful navigation of college admissions with nontraditional learners and have placed numerous students in fulfilling college communities.
At GATEWAY we have time-tested, knowledge, expertise, and compassion to help students with challenges such as: ADHD/ADD, issues with executive functioning, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, ASD spectrum diagnoses, NVLD, auditory and visual processing, working memory challenges and much more.
Gateway assists students in creating compelling lists by employing our vast knowledge and understanding of schools which provide excellent academic support and the way in which these support services work. We are also well-versed in helping families secure additional services beyond what a campus may provide.
In addition to non-traditional learners, students experiencing stress, anxiety, and those having attended wilderness therapy or other therapeutic programs such as residential treatment centers and therapeutic boarding schools all have had great success working with GATEWAY. We are well acquainted with which college environments provide ‘best fits’ for very capable students looking for fresh starts.
At GATEWAY we adapt our support to the needs of the student in front of us, helping each through a successful admissions experience; as such we also recognize the need for and oversee placement of students in college transition programs as first next steps.
